‘People Are Hungry, Tired’ – Ayra Starr Blasts Critics
Ayra Starr, the Nigerian songstress behind the hit single ‘Bloody Samaritan’, has shared her indifference to negative criticism.
According to her, most of her critics are struggling with depression and poverty, making their opinions inconsequential to her.
She believes that investing time in worrying about what others say about her is a futile endeavor.
Speaking in a recent interview with Dose Society, Starr said: “What matters less? I think opinions and people’s perceptions of you doesn’t [matter].
“Trust me, people are living their lives. Everybody is busy. People are hungry. Stop caring and stop thinking what people are thinking about you. People are hungry, tired. Life is hard. Just do you.
“Sometimes, you’re there overthinking, ‘what does this person think about me?’ Then, they’re just like, ‘what’s gonna happen today? Am I gonna make it home?’
“There’s a lot happening in the world, and if you spend your time thinking about what people think about you, you’re just gonna waste time. Do you, find yourself. Be confident in yourself. Don’t care about the outcome. Just do. Don’t be afraid to fail. Fail as many times as you want to but when you get it right, you’re going to be so proud of yourself.”
