BREAKING: Music icon, Onyeka Onwenu, Is Dead
Renowned Nigerian singer and actress, Onyeka Onwenu, has allegedly passed away at the age of 72.
According to reports, she collapsed at a birthday celebration for Mrs.
Stella Okoli on Tuesday evening and was later pronounced dead at Reddington Hospital in Lagos.
“It is very sad. Onyeka Onwenu just performed at the birthday of Mrs. Stella Okoli today (Tuesday, July 30, 2024), and after performing, she slumped.
“She was taken to Reddington Hospital and she couldn’t make it,” the eyewitness said.
While an eyewitness has confirmed the news, the family has not officially announced her passing as of yet.
Onwenu leaves behind a legacy of iconic music albums, including ‘In The Morning Light’ and ‘Dancing In The Sun’, as well as memorable roles in films like ‘Half of a Yellow Sun’ and ‘Lions Heart’.
