NLC Demands Interim Leadership, Orders LP Office Takeover

In response to the leadership vacuum created by the Supreme Court’s ouster of Julius Abure as National Chairman, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has ordered its members to prepare for taking over Labour Party (LP) offices across the country.
NLC President Joe Ajaero called on the LP’s National Executive Committee (NEC) to promptly appoint an interim leadership tasked with conducting an inclusive Special National Convention, in full compliance with the LP Constitution and the Supreme Court’s consent judgment.
The NLC emphasized that any actions bypassing these legal frameworks would be met with stiff opposition from Nigerian workers and the public, while also criticizing Abure’s past actions.
