Peter Mbah Pledges to Immortalise Christian Chukwu, Comforts Grieving Family

Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has committed to immortalising Christian Chukwu, legendary football captain and coach, who died at 74 on April 12, 2025, in Enugu.
During a condolence visit to the Chukwu family, Mbah said, “His death is not just a loss to the family alone; it is a loss to all of us, particularly the government and the people of Enugu State.” He described Chukwu, nicknamed “Chairman,” as a role model whose influence stretched beyond sports.
Mbah, joined by senior state officials, signed the condolence register and assured the family of continued support. The state government has also opened condolence registers at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium and liaison offices across Nigeria as a mark of respect.
