Ogun Leaders Celebrate Dr. Oluwatoyin Madein’s Historic Tenure as Nigeria’s First Female Accountant-General

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and Senator Gbenga Daniel have hailed Dr. Oluwatoyin Madein, the immediate past Accountant-General of the Federation, as a trailblazer and role model during a homecoming reception held by the Iperu Development Association.
The event marked her retirement after a distinguished career in public service.
Governor Abiodun praised Dr. Madein for her “diligence, hard work, excellence, discipline, and honesty,” emphasizing her status as the first female to hold the AGF position in Nigeria. He described her as a “worthy indigene of Iperu Remo” and a “pride of Ogun State,” who never forgot her roots despite her national achievements.
He recounted her journey from modest beginnings to becoming a symbol of hope for young women, saying, “Your story is really an inspiring one, that indeed with God nothing shall be impossible.” Abiodun also highlighted her community development efforts, such as street lighting, erosion control, and women’s empowerment initiatives.
Senator Daniel congratulated Dr. Madein on her meritorious service and urged her to continue contributing to nation-building in retirement. Dr. Madein, in turn, thanked the community and the former and current presidents for their trust and support, promising to remain committed to public service and the development of her hometown.
The Iperu Development Association chairman, Otunba Taiwo Oyebanjo, praised her humility and dedication, calling the homecoming a fitting tribute to her contributions to Nigeria and Ogun State.
