2026 W’CUP: Date, Time, Venue For Group Stage Draw Announced
FIFA has confirmed that the draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup will take place on December 5 in Las Vegas, ESPN reports.
The American city was chosen after ruling out options in Canada and Mexico.
The tournament, which will be co-hosted by the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, will feature an expanded lineup of 48 teams — up from the previous 32.
“December 5, if I’m not mistaken, is precisely the day the draw takes place, or at the beginning of December,” Pachuca executive Pedro Cedillo said.
“I understand it will be in Las Vegas, and that’s where we need to be present to provide information about the city of Pachuca, the state of Hidalgo and the two venues we have.”
Notably, Las Vegas also hosted the draw the last time the U.S. staged the World Cup in 1994.
