UK Issues Important Update On Biometric Residence Permit For Visa
The United Kingdom, Visas & Immigration division (UKVI) has simplified some of the Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) processes for customers applying for certain visas with a duration of more than 6 months as part of ongoing improvements to the customer journey.
Onyxnewsng understands that the news was posted on its official website.
VFS Global, the official partner of the UK Embassy, stated that beginning on October 10, 2022, Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) letters are now sent via email; physical letters are no longer be issued when you collect your visa from the Visa Application Centre (VAC).
VFS Global also advised customers to complete their visa application using their own personal, up-to-date email address, or one that they have easy access to. To receive this email, applicants may need to check their spam/junk folder.
If applicants used a third-party email address, such as a Travel Agent, as part of their original application, they must ensure that the third party shares the BRP letter with them. Please keep in mind that the BRP letter is provided at no cost.
However, customers must still obtain their BRP card once they arrive in the United Kingdom.
In some cases, customers may receive the digital BRP letter before being notified that their visa is ready for collection. Please keep in mind that if you have chosen in-person collection, you should not go to the Visa Application Centre (VAC) until you have been contacted by VFS.
If you paid for courier delivery, VFS Global will notify you once your passport has been delivered.

What Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) And It’s Requirement
Foreign nationals who have been granted a visa or immigration permission to live, study, or work in the UK are given a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP), which is a legal document. Your BRP is a significant piece of documentation that shows your immigration status in the UK.
You will typically receive a BRP, if you apply to stay in the UK permanently, to extend your visa for a longer period of time than six months, or if you apply to come to the UK for a longer period of time than six months.
If you used the UK Immigration: ID Check app to verify your identity when you applied for your visa, you will not be eligible for a BRP.
If you used the app, you will instead be given a digital immigration status that can be checked and verified by others using the Home Office’s online service rather than receiving any physical documentation to prove your right to be in the UK.
