BREAKING: Tinubu Holds Summit With Dangote, Elumelu and Others
President Bola Tinubu convened an important meeting with key figures from the organized private sector on Sunday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Attendees at the meeting included prominent individuals such as Alhaji Aliko Dangote of Dangote Group, Tony Elumelu of Heirs Holdings and Transcorp Plc, Abdulsamad Rabiu of BUA Group, Wale Tinubu, and other stakeholders from the private sector.
This meeting took place against the backdrop of the challenging economic conditions facing Nigerians, exacerbated by the significant increase in the exchange rate of the dollar to the naira.
It is worth noting that recent data from FMDQ indicated that the naira experienced a depreciation to N1,665.50 per US dollar by the end of the working week, up from N1571.31 recorded on Thursday.
Furthermore, the Central Bank of Nigeria introduced new guidelines as part of a comprehensive policy intervention for Bureau De Change operators, which includes measures such as prohibiting street trading and implementing additional per capita share requirements for registration.
