JUST IN: Sultan Declares March 1 Beginning Of Ramadan
His Eminence, Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar III, has officially announced that Saturday, March 1, 2025, will mark the beginning of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Speaking from his palace on Friday evening, the Sultan confirmed that the crescent moon was sighted earlier that day, Friday, February 28, corresponding to the 29th of Shaban.
The verified reports from various regions of the country were reviewed and accepted by the council, confirming the commencement of Ramadan 1446.
The Sultan called on all Muslims to embrace the holy month with prayers, seeking Allah’s blessings and guidance for the nation and its leaders.
He also encouraged acts of charity, stressing the importance of assisting the less privileged so that they, too, can observe the fasting period without hardship.
Reports from Islamic leaders across the country affirmed the moon sighting, officially marking the beginning of Ramadan fasting on Saturday. With this declaration, Muslims across Nigeria are set to embark on a month of fasting, prayer, and spiritual reflection.
