Matheus Cunha Joins Manchester United in £62.5m Transfer from Wolves

Manchester United have completed the signing of Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers for a reported £62.5 million. Cunha, 26, will sign a five-year deal with the option of an extra year, becoming the first summer signing under new manager Ruben Amorim.
The club announced, “Manchester United has reached an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers for the signing of Matheus Cunha,” adding, “Everyone at Manchester United looks forward to welcoming Matheus to Old Trafford.” The transfer is pending visa and registration clearance.
Cunha impressed at Wolves, scoring 18 goals this season and winning the club’s player of the year award. Since arriving from Atletico Madrid in early 2023, he has scored 33 goals in 92 appearances. United triggered his release clause to finalize the deal, signaling their intent to strengthen the squad after a difficult campaign that saw them finish 15th in the Premier League and lose the Europa League final.
The Brazilian international’s arrival is expected to bolster United’s attacking options as Amorim looks to turn around the club’s fortunes.
