Lagos Police Identify Object in Pastor Adefarasin’s Viral Video

The Lagos State Police Command has addressed public concerns regarding a viral video featuring Pastor Paul Adefarasin holding what appeared to be a firearm. The police clarified on Tuesday that the object is a stun gun, which is classified as prohibited anti-riot equipment.
The video showed Adefarasin driving an unregistered vehicle while brandishing the stun gun, leading to widespread speculation. According to the police, the pastor voluntarily surrendered to authorities and cooperated fully with the ongoing investigation. He was interrogated and gave a cautionary statement.
The police confirmed, “What was recovered from him, the gun-like object seen in the viral video, is not a lethal weapon or firearm but a stun gun which is a prohibited anti-riot equipment.” Pastor Adefarasin has been granted administrative bail, and the police assured the public that the investigation’s outcome will be disclosed in due course.
