Breaking: Lagos government bans ‘Okada’, tricycles, check effective date

Lagos State Government has banned the commercial motorcycles’ operators, popular Okada, and tricycles, known as Keke Napep, in some Local Government Areas, bridges, and highways in the state.

Also banned are Opay and Gokada operators.

According to the state government, the full enforcement of the ban would begin on February 1, Saturday 2020.

Among the 15 Local Governments and Local Council Development Centres that the motorcycles are not allowed to operate are: Apapa, Apapa Iganmu, Lagos Mainland, Yaba, Surulere, Itire Ikate, Coker Aguda, Eti-Osa, Lagos Island, Ikeja, Onigbongo, Ojodu, Ikoyi-Obalende, Iru Ikoyi-Obaland.

This was stated on Monday in a tweet by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Jubril Gawat., and Lagos Island East.
