Buhari, Lawan, APC react to Lagos explosion, see reactions

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed pity towards victims of the explosion that occurred on Sunday morning at Abule Ado, Lagos.

In a statement released this evening through the president’s official Twitter page, read:

I received with sadness the news of the explosion in Lagos, which caused loss of lives and property. While the NNPC makes efforts to determine the cause of the incident, I send my deepest sympathies to the victims, their families, and the Government and people of Lagos State.“

At the same time, the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan and the All Progressives Congress (APC) also sent their sympathy messages to the victims of the explosion.

In a statement by his Special Adviser, Ola Awoniyi, Lawan sympathized with the Lagos State Government over the tragic incident and prayed to God to comfort all those who have lost properties and loved ones.

Lawan also called on the necessary authorities and agencies to find out the cause of the incident with a view to avoid recurrence.

On the other hand, APC in a statement issued by Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, National Publicity Secretary. said the party thanked the emergency response led by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, the Fire Service and other agencies for speedy contain of the incident and attending to injured victims of the explosion.

While the party deeply condoles with families and loved ones over recorded deaths, we also wish the injured a speedy and full recovery and sympathise with residents who lost property in the explosion. We are confident that the Lagos State Government will implement measures to bring succour to the victims,” the statement said.
