Former world boxing champion, Roger Mayweather, is dead.
He died on Tuesday 17 March 2020.
The 58-year-old uncle and trainer to Floyd Mayweather, died after a long time suffering from an ailment.
Mayweather Jr said in a statement: “My uncle was one of the most important people in my life inside and outside of the ring
“Roger was a great champion and one of the best trainers in boxing. Unfortunately, his health was failing him for several years and now he can finally rest in peace.”
Roger was a two-weight world champion and fought 72 times during his 17-year career.
Mayweather got a total of a professional record of 59 victories, 25 of those wins were through knockout, and also had 13 losses in a career that started earlier and improved in 1981 through 1999 before he moved on as a full-time trainer to his nephew, Floyd Mayweather.
Roger’s death comes a week after the death of Josie Harris, mother of three kids to Floyd Mayweather.
Onyxnewsng reported that Jossie Harris, mother of three kids to ex professional boxer, Floyd Mayweather was found dead at her residence in Los Angeles.
Jossie, was found dead at her Valencia home last week Monday.
The actress was confirmed dead after she was seen in a car parked outside her house.
Reports said officials are handling the case as a death investigation and not considering Harris’ death as she was been killed
The 40-year-old Jossie had previously accused the 43-year-old of domestic violence on more than one occasion. Charges of battery were dropped in 2005 after she claimed that she had lied about the violence.
Five years later, in September 2010, Harris alleged that Mayweather had entered her home while she was asleep and assaulted her with her children as witnesses.
The couple who had spent 10 years together eventually went separate ways in 2010 over uncountable allegations of domestic violence.
