No coronavirus broadcast today- Presidency

There won’t be broadcast from President Muhammadu Buhari today, the Presidency has announced.
Onyxnews Nigeria reports that national coordinator of the presidential task force on COVID-19, Aliyu Sani, had revealed this on Channels TV on Sunday, May 17 that President Buhari would address Nigerians in a national broadcast over the COVID-19 pandemic today.
But, the Presidency on Monday dismissed reports that President Buhari would be making a media broadcast on Monday on the next phase of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic ease in the country.
Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, who clarified this in a tweet, denied Sani’s claim, saying there is no plan for coronavirus broadcast today, adding if there is any update, it would be passed on by the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on the COVID-19 disease during its usual briefings.
While giving the update on the deadly virus, the Presidential spokesman said through the micro-bloggingsite that: “No presidential broadcast on COVID-19 updates today. None was planned. Rather, the Presidential Task Force will during its usual media briefings bring the nation up to speed on the next steps,” the tweet read.
