President Buhari signs financial autonomy to state legislature, judiciary
President Muhammadu Buhari has signed and given financial autonomy to the legislature and judiciary across all the states in Nigeria.
Onyxnews Nigeria reports that Buhari granted the autonomy via a new executive order signed on Friday, May 22, 2020.

He said that his administration would “continue to do everything to strengthen the principles and practice of democratic governance in Nigeria.”
“Based on the power vested in me under Section 5 of the 1999 Constitution (as Amended), I, today, signed into law Executive Order No. 10 of 2020 for the implementation of Financial Autonomy of State Legislature and State Judiciary,” President Buhari wrote on Twitter.
Few hours ago, the president made an appointment.
He approved the appointment of Prof. Godswill Obioma as the new Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the National Examinations Council, NECO after the sack of Charles Uwakwe as the Registrar and CEO of NECO, along side four others.
