Boss Mustapha rolls out next plan as second phase of COVID-19 lockdown ease ends

The Chairman of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, has said state governments, community and religious leaders will be responsible for the next phase of fight against coronavirus, COVID-19.
Boss Mustapha, who is the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, said the decision was taken because Nigeria was currently experiencing community disease.
Onyxnews Nigeria reports that the SGF said this after he and members of the task force met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Sunday.
Boss Mustapha, addressing State House Correspondents after the meeting, he disclosed that the Federal Government will only provide supervision and coordination, going further.
His words: “The ownership of the next stage will be the responsibility of the states because we have gone into community transmission.
“Where are the communities? The communities are in the states. So, the ownership of the next stage will be the responsibility of the states, the local government, the traditional institutions, the religious leaders at the different levels of our communities, because that is where the problem is.”
Onyxnews Nigeria reported Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) had revealed through the micro blogging site, Twitter that 307 new cases of ravaging COVID-19 has been detected in Nigeria, bringing the total number of cases of the deadly virus to 10162 in the country.
