APC Chairman Suspended

APC chairman has been suspended.
OnyxNews Nigeria reports that the Caretaker Committee chairman of the Kwara state All Progressive Congress(APC), Hon Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa has been suspended.
He was suspended during the State Executive Committee meeting held at Kwara Hotel on Thursday November 5, 2020.
This was revealed in a statement by the Public Relation Officer of the party, Alhaji Tajudeen Folarin Aro who said that Omolaja was suspended following allegations of anti-party activities, lack of accountability and mismanagement of funds and promotion of indiscipline in the ruling party.
The motion for suspension was raised by a leader of the party from Kwara South, Rev. Abel Adewumi and was seconded by the Secretary of the party from Kiama, Alhaji Musa Baba Mohammed.
Rev Adewumi explained that the allegations levied against the enstranged chairman, is in contravention of the APC Constitution (2014) as amended, in Article 21 (i-viii) which says among others that, ‘anti-party activities or any conduct, which is likely to embarrass or have adverse effect on the party or bring the party into hatred, contempt, ridicule or disrepute.
Rev Adewumi said: “You will recall that in 2018 he was picked as the caretaker chairman of the party when Dr. Bukola Saraki defected to the PDP. Unfortunately, he has being operating since then more or less like a sole administrator”, he said.
The party statement issued briefly after the Sec meeting stated: “Several efforts have been invested towards solving the crisis but it yielded no result as he was bent on sidelining other executive members of the party.”
The move to suspend the embattled chairman was taken to ensure that he does not superintend over the upcoming registration of party members in the state to avoid factionalising the party.
The party reconvened immediately after factional members led by the suspended chairman, Omolaja, had walked out of the meeting, after their bid to disrupt the meeting was in vain.
