BREAKING: Two States House Speakers Impeached

Two States Speakers have been impeached.

The Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Abubakar Ibrahim has been impeached by the state lawmakers.

OnyxNews Nigeria reports that the Speaker was impeached by 16 out of the 24 members of the Assembly on Tuesday.

At the same time, 20 lawmakers in Ondo state house of Assembly on Tuesday signed the impeachment notice of the deputy speaker, Hon. Iroju Ogundeji, at the House plenary.

Iroju, who is representing Odigbo constituency 2 was impeached following the House resolutions led by the speaker, Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oloyelogun.

OnyxNews Nigeria gathered that the impeached deputy speaker was replaced by Hon. Aderoboye.

Iroju was impeached on the ground of gross misconduct which has brought disrepute the hallowed chamber.

Following the reconstitution of the House, Hon. Tomide Akinribido has been removed as the minority leader and replaced by Hon. Festus Akingbaso from PDP while Hon. Ogunmolasuyi is the new majority leader.
