BREAKING: Former Nigerian Governor Arrested By EFCC, See Why

Former Nigerian Governor arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday, over fraud.
Onyxnews reports that the immediate past governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed has been nabbed over corruption allegations.

He was said to have arrived the EFCC headquarters in the morning on Monday, in response to the invitation extended to him by the agency.

Following his arrival at the anti-graft agency’s office, Ahmed was in the interrogation room for a while as Onyxnews learnt he was writing statements and questioned.
Spokesman for the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed that the former governor responded to the commission’s invitation.
But, Wilson declined further comments.
According to sources at the anti-graft agency to Channels Television, the former governor is being interrogated by a professional team of operatives at the EFCC headquarters in the Jabi area of Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
While details of the case were still sketchy as of press time, sources revealed that his arrest was in connection with how funds to the tune of about N9 billion were allegedly diverted from the coffers of Kwara State government.

The money was alleged to have been diverted during Mr Ahmed’s tenure as governor of the state, and when he served as the Commissioner for Finance in the administration of former governor Bukola Saraki.
