BREAKING: Real Madrid’s Stadium On Fire, Cause Of Fire (Video)
Real Madrid’s iconic Santiago Bernabeu stadium on Wednesday night caught fire.
Mirror news stated according to the local fire department that a piece of insulation material caught fire during some standard welding work. And that led to smoke billowing out from the top of the stadium and across the surrounding, while fire alarms across the venue sounded.
Construction workers working on the reconstruction project duly put it out themselves and it had been extinguished by the time fire marshalls arrived at the scene.
No-one was hurt during the fire incident, report clarified.
Madrid’s home – which hasn’t been used during the coronavirus pandemic, with first-team matches taking place at the club’s training ground at Valdebebas – is in the middle of a £500million face lift.
The huge operation, which is due to be finished in time for the 2022-23 season, will see a fully-retractable roof and a 360-degree video screen that stretches around the entire ground installed.
