BREAKING: EFCC Arrests Nigerian Governor
EFCC has arrested Nigerian Governor.
Onyxnewsng reports that the EFCC has arrested former Kano Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso for interrogation.
The former Governor was interrogated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations of mismanagement of N10 billion in pension funds.
The remittances from pensions were allegedly used to fund a housing project for cronies.
According to a source, the EFCC picked the former Governor in response to a petition signed by some Kano State government retirees.
“Kwankwaso is currently being interrogated by a team of operatives at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja,” the source said.

“The EFCC first invited Kwankwaso, who is also a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, in September, but he did not show up.”
Another source said, he “may have been picked in relation to a petition by some retired Kano State Government employees who had previously petitioned the EFCC, alleging that the former Governor mismanaged pension remittances to the tune of N10 billion between 2011 and 2015 to fund a housing project for cronies.”
