Omicron: Video: How UK Quarantines Immigrants After Placing Some Countries On Red List

A video has surfaced on the internet showing crowd supposed to be immigrants at the arrival in the UK, wrapped with towels and not observing social distancing.

In the video, a voice can be heard explaining the situation of the people who have already paid 2285 pounds for quarantine at UK arrival.

Recall that the British High Commission has suspended visitor visa applications from all red list countries, including Nigeria.

It was announced in a statement few hours after UK added Nigeria to its travel red list as a result of concerns over the Omicron COVID variant.

The commission further stated that the suspension of processing visitor visa applications will only be lifted when the travel ban placed on the country is removed.

According to the statement read, “To support the UK Government’s aim to protect public health from COVID-19 and associated variants of concern (VOC), UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) will pause making decisions on visitor visa applications in all red list countries, including Nigeria until travel restrictions are lifted.
