Outcome Of Former Emir Of Kano, Sanusi’s Meeting With Tinubu

Former Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to investigate the killing of over 37 herdsmen in a bomb blast in Nasarawa State on January 25.

About 37 persons were buried after the incident; however, the death toll subsequently rose to 40.

Recall that the incident, which occurred in the Rukubi community of Doma Local Government Area of the state, generated uproar across the country, with some stakeholders accusing political bigwigs of masterminding the deadly attack.

Also, operatives of the Nigerian Air Force were accused of carrying out the unfortunate attack.

While a section of Nigerians attributed the incident to an accidental military strike, others have insisted that the attack was sponsored by politicians who were against the activities of the herders in the region.

Sanusi, who met with President Bola Tinubu on Thursday at the State House, told reporters that he had issued a reminder to the president for a possible investigation.

He said a letter was hitherto written to the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, on the matter but not attended to.

He expressed optimism that President Tinubu would look into the matter soon.

He said, “I came to appeal to President Bola Tinubu on the case of the 37 Herdsmen who were bombed by the Nigerian Airforce in Nasarawa a few months ago, which we wrote a letter to President Buhari on.

“We have written a reminder because it is a case we do not want to forget, and he (Tinubu) promised to look into the matter”.
