Bola Tinubu, Congratulates Liberian President-elect, Boakai And Hailed Outgoing President, Weah For Remarkable Tenure

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the government and people of Liberia following the successful conduct of the Liberian presidential election.
President Bola Tinubu, through his media aide Ajuri Ngelale, expressed his congratulations to the government and people of Liberia on the successful conduct of their presidential election.
He specifically congratulated President-elect Joseph Boakai and urged him to unite the country and capitalize on the popular support shown through the ballot box to provide good governance to the people of Liberia.
President Tinubu also commended outgoing President George Weah for his remarkable display of leadership by conceding the election, thereby preventing any potential socio-political crisis.
He considers President Weah’s act of democratic sportsmanship to be a positive example, particularly in a West African context where democracy is facing challenges from actors seeking to undermine the will of the people.
He said, “I commend President George Weah for his sterling example, undiluted patriotism, and statesmanship.
“He has defied the stereotype that peaceful transitions of power are untenable in West Africa. He has demonstrated that the outcome of elections in the sub-region need not become the propellant of violence and unrest and that the will of the people must always be respected.”
Additionally, President Tinubu expressed gratitude to the Liberian people for their peaceful exercise of their democratic rights and encouraged them to continue promoting peace and democracy in their nation.
