EPL: Iwobi Surpasses John Mikel Obi’s Record Of Most Minutes Played
Fulham midfielder, Alex Iwobi, has recently achieved a new milestone by setting a record for the most minutes played by a Nigerian in the Premier League.
Iwobi broke the previous record held by former Chelsea midfielder, John Mikel Obi, after completing a full 90 minutes in Fulham’s 1-0 home loss to Newcastle United last Saturday.
With this recent match, Iwobi has now accumulated a total of 16,289 minutes played in the English top-flight, surpassing Mikel’s previous record of 16,218 minutes.
Having had previous stints with Arsenal and Everton, the 27-year-old made the move to Craven Cottage.
Known for his versatility, Iwobi has netted five goals in 25 league appearances for Fulham this season ever since joining Marco Silva’s team from Everton last summer.
