BREAKING: Renown PDP Chairman Shot Dead
Tragedy struck in Abavo, Ika South Local Government Area, as Elder Francis Amamosa, the founding chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for ward 10, was brutally murdered by suspected Fulani herdsmen while working on his farm near the railway line in Okpe quarters.
The 80-year-old politician and community leader courageously resisted an attempted kidnapping, prompting the attackers to use machetes after their guns failed.
Despite his bravery, he succumbed to his injuries.
The assailants abducted two other farmers, leaving the community in a state of fear and tension.
The incident has been reported to the Abavo police, and Elder Amamosa’s body has been taken to the mortuary.
This devastating event, coupled with a similar recent incident, has disrupted agricultural activities and social life in the area, leaving the community in a state of shock and grief.
