JUST IN: Court Of Appeal Reverses Lokoja High Court Ruling Against EFCC
The Court of Appeal has issued an order to halt the execution and proceedings in the contempt case initiated by former Kogi Governor, Yahaya Bello against the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olokoyede.
This decision was made by Hon Justice Joseph O.K. Oyewole JCA, along with Hon Justice P. C. Obiora JCA and Hon Justice Okon Abang JCA.
The order is in connection to a motion labeled HCL/190m/2024, which is currently pending before the High Court of Kogi State presided over by Hon Justice Isa Abdullahi Jamil in the matter of Yahaya Bello vs EFCC.
This judgment was delivered today, on Friday, May 3, 2024, subsequent to the presentation made by Chief J. S. Okutepa (SAN) along with Eko Ejembi Eko (SAN), Abdulkareem Musa Esq, and David Ojogbane Akogu Esq.
In his ruling, Oyewole JCA noted that the Ex-parte motion was substantiated and scheduled the hearing of the motion on notice for May 20, 2024.
Consequently, the court has instructed for the serving of all legal documents in the case to be affixed at No 9 Bengazi Street Wuse Zone 4 Abuja, as it represents the last known address of Yahaya Bello.
This directive was provided concerning the case of EFCC Vs. Alhaji Yahaya Bello Appeal No: CA/ABJ/CV/413/2024.
