Euro 2024: Rodri Banned For Spain’s Final Group Stage Match
Spain’s midfielder Rodri, will be absent from their final Euro 2024 group stage match against Albania due to accumulation of two yellow cards in consecutive matches.
Rodri’s most recent booking occurred during Spain’s 1-0 win over Italy, where he received a yellow card for dissent after speaking to the referee, a right reserved solely for team captains under new tournament regulations.
Having also received a yellow card in Spain’s 3-0 triumph over Croatia, Rodri’s suspension for the Albania match on Monday is automatic.
This rule change at Euro 2024 aims to discourage players from pressuring referees following controversial decisions.
