Bobrisky’s Legal Troubles Continue: Claims Rearrest by Immigration Officials

Bobrisky, whose real name is Idris Okuneye, has claimed that Nigerian immigration authorities rearrested him upon his return to the country.
This development follows a series of legal challenges for Bobrisky. Several months ago, he announced his decision to leave Nigeria, citing the need to focus on his well-being. This came after he was sentenced to six months in prison in April of the previous year for naira abuse.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, he expressed shock and confusion over the arrest, stating that he was unaware of any wrongdoing. “Guys, I have just been arrested by immigration in Nigeria. I don’t know what I did o,” he wrote. However, Nigerian Immigration authorities have yet to confirm the arrest.
After his release, activist VeryDarkMan alleged in an audio recording that Bobrisky had paid ₦15 million to EFCC officials to dismiss money laundering charges. Bobrisky denied the claim, questioning the recording’s authenticity and threatening legal action. He was also arrested at the Seme border in October while attempting to leave the country and was rearrested in November.
Recently, in a TikTok live session, Bobrisky stated that he had relocated to an undisclosed country where he is “officially recognised as female and receives the respect I deserve.” He declared, “Nothing will bring me back to Nigeria. I am never living in Nigeria. If I need to come to Nigeria, it will be for a visit because this country suits me.”
