Lawal: Buhari’s Support Not Required — CPC Loyalists Poised Against Tinubu

Babachir Lawal, former SGF and a key figure in the CPC, has said that the movement to remove President Tinubu in 2027 is independent of Buhari’s endorsement. Lawal accused those seeking Buhari’s favor of “chasing shadows,” asserting that genuine CPC members are driven by the plight of the poor.
“These guys have given us a reason to come against them because the CPC is a Talakawa Movement… That is our ideology, which we learned from Buhari,” Lawal explained.
He clarified, “It is also not like we will go and tell Buhari to follow us. Of course, we are mature and intelligent people.” Lawal also criticized ex-CPC members who remain with the APC, labeling them as opportunists.
