COVID-19: Ex-Barcelona Player Neymar Jr Tests Positive Again
Brazilian football star Neymar has tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time.
According to Goal.com, Neymar’s club, Santos, confirmed in a statement that the Brazilian forward is currently receiving treatment.
“With viral condition that started on Thursday, June 5, 2025, Neymar Jr. underwent laboratory tests, after evaluation by the Medical Department of Santos FC, which confirmed infection by Covid-19.
“He had been away from activities since Thursday, and undergoing symptomatic treatment,” Santos disclosed.
Recall that Neymar previously tested positive for COVID-19 during his stint with Paris Saint-Germain in 2021.
Neymar is already ruled out of Thursday’s league match against Fortaleza due to suspension.
The match against Fortaleza will be Santos’ final game before the Brazilian league takes a break for the Club World Cup in the United States, scheduled from June 14 to July 13.
The former Barcelona star’s future at Santos remains uncertain, with his contract set to expire on June 30.
Limited by injury, Neymar has made 12 appearances across all competitions this season, recording three goals and three assists.
