Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Kogi Family Home Attacked Again; Suspect Arrested with Charms

The tranquility of Ihima community in Okehi Local Government Area, Kogi State, was shattered on Tuesday night when gunmen launched a violent attack on the family home of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. The assailants arrived in large numbers, causing significant damage by smashing windows and destroying valuables within the ancestral residence.
A statement from the senator’s media team confirmed that the attackers were eventually driven off by a combined effort of local police officers, community vigilantes, and youths from the area. The rapid response prevented further destruction and potential harm to residents.
One suspect was arrested at the scene. Although his identity remains undisclosed, he is reportedly a native of the community with alleged ties to powerful political figures. The suspect confessed to involvement in three separate attacks on the senator’s family compound, according to sources.
Eyewitnesses recounted that the suspect was nearly lynched by an angry mob before police intervention secured his custody. Authorities recovered a cutlass and charms from the individual, while other attackers, believed to be armed with dangerous weapons, fled and remain at large.
This attack follows a similar incident on April 15, 2025, when the senator’s family home was previously targeted. No arrests were made following that earlier attack, raising concerns about ongoing security threats to the senator’s family.
