UPDATED: Ex-President Buhari’s Burial Rescheduled— New Date, Time Revealed
The remains of former President Muhammadu Buhari are expected to arrive in Katsina State by midday on Tuesday, July 15, ahead of his burial, which is set to take place at 2:00 p.m. in his hometown, Daura.
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda announced this during a press briefing on Monday in Katsina, following consultations with Buhari’s family and close associates in London, where the former president passed away.
He stated that the burial will be conducted in accordance with Islamic rites.
The governor also extended his condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“We also condole His Excellency, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over the passing of his predecessor. May Allah give us the strength to bear this great loss.”
According to Governor Radda, the burial plans are being jointly handled by the state government, federal authorities, and the Buhari family to ensure a respectful and solemn farewell for the late statesman.
