BREAKING: Shooting Stars Assistant Coach, Olowokere, Slumps, Dies Mid-Session
The newly appointed Assistant Coach of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), Ibadan, Oyo State, Akin Olowokere, tragically slumped and died on Monday morning.
Olowokere, a former Sunshine Stars of Akure player and later coach, was reported to have collapsed while on duty, prompting immediate medical attention before being rushed to an undisclosed hospital.
As at the time of this release, the cause of his death remains unknown.
However, according to PUNCH Online in Ibadan, an eye witness claimed that “he slumped on the pitch during the team’s Monday morning training session and was rushed to the hospital.
“He was, however, confirmed dead at the hospital where he was rushed to.”
He was unveiled only recently as part of the Oluyole Warriors’ new coaching team, following the exit of the Gbenga Ogunbote-led crew.
Known for his calm demeanor, Olowokere had a long playing career with Sunshine Stars before transitioning into coaching, and previously served as assistant coach under head coach Edith Agoye.
