Nigerians To Provide 5-yr Social Media History For Visa Application – US Embassy Announced
The United States Mission in Nigeria has reminded visa applicants to fully disclose their social media history when filling out the DS-160 form.
In a post on its official X handle, the Mission stressed that applicants must list all usernames or handles used across any platform in the past five years.
It cautioned that failing to provide this information could jeopardize future travel to the U.S.
The Mission further noted that applicants are required to certify the accuracy of their submissions before signing, warning that incomplete or misleading details will not be ignored.
“Visa applicants are required to list all social media usernames or handles of every platform they have used from the last 5 years on the DS-160 visa application form,” the Mission stated.
“Applicants certify that the information in their visa application is true and correct before they sign and submit. Omitting social media information could lead to visa denial and ineligibility for future visas,” it added.
