JUST IN: President Tinubu Arrives Brazil For State Visit
President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Brasília, Brazil, for a two-day state visit aimed at strengthening ties between Nigeria and Brazil.
The presidential jet touched down at Brasília International Airport at about 12:30 a.m. local time (4:30 a.m. Nigerian time).
On arrival, Tinubu was received by Carlos José Moreno Garcete, Brazil’s Secretary for Africa and the Middle East, alongside the Brazilian Ambassador to Nigeria and senior Nigerian government officials, including Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu.
During the visit, Tinubu will hold talks with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and other top Brazilian leaders on Monday at the Planalto Palace.
Both presidents are expected to witness the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) before addressing a joint press conference.
The agenda of the visit includes discussions on cooperation in agriculture, energy transition, regional security, and other areas of mutual strategic interest.
