Boko Haram Takes Over New Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali’s Home Town.
In a report by Channels Television, monitored by OnyxNews Nigeria, Boko Haram terrorists have taken over Geidam local government area in Yobe State on Friday.
OnyxNews Nigeria gathered that IGP Usman Alkali Baba, the acting Inspector General of Police, hails from Geidam.
Meanwhile, a military jet has been sent to the town to dislodge the insurgents, reports said.
Geidam was previously attacked on February 9, only days after Ibrahim Attahiru, the newly named Chief of Army Staff, paid a visit to troops.
The number of people killed or injured in Friday’s attack is still unclear.
