HAPPENING NOW: Tension As Gunshots Take Over Yoruba Nation Protest In Lagos
As the Yoruba nation protest commenced, police officers present at Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota, Lagos, have fired gunshots.
Onyxnews Nigeria reports that the protesters landed as the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu was speaking to journalists at the event and declared that no rally is allowed in Lagos.
The protesters disobeyed the police as they were heard lamenting the rising insecurity in the southwest, they also decried the attack on Sunday Igboho’s residence.
While raising flags, sharing fliers on the Yoruba Nation, they also chanted “Yoruba Nation Now, No going back”, “Igboho Oosa”, “No retreat, No surrender.”
Guns were fired a few minutes later, and hot water from an armoured tank was used to disperse the crowd.

Police officers were seen dragging some of the protestors into an armored tank. While heavy gridlock took over the Ojota routes.
