Another Nigerian Lawmaker Killed In His Residence.
Onyxnewsng reports that the councillor representing Sankalawa Ward in the Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Tukur Hassan, was murdered in his residence by unknown gunmen.
This online news gathered that Aliyu Babba, father’s younger brother to the deceased and the village head of Sabon Gida where the late councillor hailed from said: “the late Tukur Hassan went to Damba village last Thursday, August 12, to buy something and when he was coming back home, some gunmen followed him without his knowledge. So, as he entered his house, he had his dinner and began to perform the night prayers when the gunmen suddenly broke into his parlour, killed him and left,” Aliyu narrated how Turkur was killed.

Tukur was a man loved by the people and a philanthropist, according to the family source in an interview with MAIHARAJI ALTINE.

He had served as councillor for a decade. He served as a councillor for Sankalawa Ward in the Bungudu Local Government for eight years during the administration of a former governor, AbdulAziz Yari. And for two years in the same ward under the present administration of Governor Bello Matawalle.
Similarly, he enjoyed many privileges from the government both at the state and at the local government level.

The family source revealed that Turkur had plans to move forward from a councillor to a local government chairman as he had all the potential to be in that position.
The deceased left two wives and six children.
Meanwhile, the source said the other family members are asking the state government to consider appointing any member of their family as a councillor for Sankalawa Ward to replace late Tukur Hassan. And to investigate the killing of their beloved brother.
