Nigerian Government Declares A Day Public Holiday
The Jigawa government has declared Friday a work-free day to commemorate the 31st anniversary of the creation of the state.
Jigawa was created out of the old Kano state on August 27, 1991, by military dictator Ibrahim Babangida.
The state has 27 local government areas.
The announcement on the public is contained in a statement by Isma’il Ibrahim, the spokesman for the office of the head of the civil service (HoS), in Dutse on Thursday.
The government felicitated Jigawa indigenes and urged them to pray for the state and Nigeria while celebrating the day.
