Buni Approves Recruitment Of 158 Community Nurses

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has approved the employment of 158 community nursing graduates of Dr Shehu Sule College of Nursing and Midwifery, Damaturu as part of plan to boost healthcare service delivery.

Director General, Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Mamman Mohammed revealed this in a statement released on Saturday.

According to the statement, the newly hired nurses are graduates of two sets of community nursing of the college.

Similarly, Governor Buni has approved the payment of N10,000 monthly allowance to 393 students of Yobe State origin undergoing National Diploma and Basic Midwifery programmes at the Shehu Sule College of Nursing and Midwifery.

“The approval indicates that 67 of the benefitting students are also entitled to 11 months arrears of the allowance”, the statement added.Buni urged the newly employed health personnel to be dedicated to serve the people better.He also charged them to key into the reform programme of the State government to provide efficient, accessible and affordable medical services to the people.

Mai Mala Buni also advised the students to study hard to justify the government’s investment in them.
