Trump Calls for Investigation into Kamala Harris’s Use of Celebrity Endorsements in Failed 2024 Bid

President Donald Trump announced on Monday plans to launch a “major investigation” into Kamala Harris’s 2024 presidential campaign over allegations that she paid celebrities for endorsements, a practice he claims violates campaign rules.
On Truth Social, Trump wrote, “Candidates aren’t allowed to pay for ENDORSEMENTS, which is what Kamala did, under the guise of paying for entertainment.”
During her campaign, Harris enlisted celebrities like Beyonce and Oprah Winfrey to rally support. Winfrey defended a $1 million payment from Harris’s campaign to her production company, stating it was to cover costs for hosting duties. Harris’s team denied claims that Beyonce was paid $10 million to appear at a campaign event.
The campaign’s financial filings showed only one minor endorsement-related expense of $75 to an environmental group. Trump, who secured a decisive victory, had limited backing from the entertainment industry but cultivated support from select influencers such as Joe Rogan.
Trump also accused Harris of paying Bruce Springsteen for a subpar performance at a Georgia rally shortly before the election, questioning, “How much did Kamala Harris pay Bruce Springsteen for his poor performance during her campaign for president? Why did he accept that money if he is such a fan of hers?”
The dispute intensified after Springsteen called Trump’s administration “corrupt” during a UK concert, leading Trump to dismiss the musician as “Highly Overrated.” Springsteen had publicly supported Harris after she succeeded Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee.
