In a heartfelt response to the recent spate of deadly attacks across Borno, Plateau, Kano, and Kebbi states, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has condemned the violence and called for an immediate, people-focused security strategy. The attacks, which resulted in the deaths of over 50 individuals, have left communities devastated and the nation in mourning.

Taking to social media on Saturday, Atiku described the tragic events as “heartbreaking reports” that should awaken the nation’s conscience. “My deepest sympathies go to the bereaved families and the affected communities. These tragedies are not mere statistics; they are real stories of shattered families and stolen dreams,” he said, stressing the human cost behind the numbers.

Atiku further lamented the “continued silence and indifference” from government authorities in regions like Benue, where violent attacks persist. He called on leaders to put human lives above political considerations, warning that history will judge harshly those who “chose power over people.”
