BREAKING: 24 Kebbi Schoolgirls Kidnapped Regain Freedom
According to reports, Twenty-four schoolgirls abducted from Government Girls Secondary School in Maga, Kebbi State, have been rescued.
According to security sources, this operation was carried out on Tuesday.
However, details of the operation remain unclear as of the time of this report.
The abduction had triggered widespread outrage across the country, further raising alarm over the safety of students in northern Nigeria amidst a wave of similar incidents.
On November 17, it was reported that armed terrorists attacked Maga Comprehensive Girls’ Secondary School in the early hours of Monday.
They kidnapped an unspecified number of female students and killed at least one staff member during the assault.
A school guard was also injured in the attack, which occurred around 5:52 a.m., as the students were preparing for their morning activities.
Eyewitness accounts revealed that the gunmen stormed the premises, firing sporadically and causing panic, before fleeing with several students and leaving behind a scene of fear and devastation.
