Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has formally joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), several months after exiting the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Reports indicate that El-Rufai completed his registration with the ADC and received his membership card at the party’s office in U/Sarki Ward, Kaduna State.

Recall that on March 10, the former Minister of the FCT announced his departure from the APC, citing an increasing misalignment between his personal principles and the party’s current direction.

In his resignation letter, he openly faulted the APC leadership, accusing it of abandoning the progressive ideals on which the party was originally built.

El-Rufai explained that for the past two years, he had repeatedly expressed concerns—both in private and in public—about the party’s declining direction, but his observations were consistently ignored.

The former governor, who played a key role in the 2013 coalition that birthed the APC, expressed regret that the party had strayed far from its founding vision.
