Breaking News: Fire razes some part of Mogadishu Barracks ‘mammy’ market in Abuja

Fire razes some part of Mogadishu Barracks market commonly known as ‘mammy’ market in Asokoro, Abuja.
The fire incident started about 3:15am on Wednesday.
The fire according to an eye witness said it was caused by a coal stove set for cooking by a food seller, having around were gas cylinders which ignited the inferno.
“One food seller set fire in the charcoal stove for cooking, due to much breeze blowing as at then, a part of the coal, flee out of the stove towards the gas cylinder around the space and that causes much fire,” the eye witness said.
Fire fighters from Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Airforce and one other fire service were present to control and prevent the fire from spreading.
Crowd were seen assisting shops owners to pack goods and properties out from the markets, while other goods and properties were destroyed in the affected shops by the sudden fire.
However, no life was lost as at the time of filing this report.
