BREAKING: Funke Akindele pleads guilty for defiling coronavirus lockdown

Funke Akindele has pleaded guilty for violating the directives of the Lagos state government which had ordered Lagosians to stay indoor.

Funke Akindele and husband, Abdul Rasheed Bello
Onyxnews Nigeria reports that the popular Nollywood actress and her musician husband, Abdulrasheed Bello, known as JJC Skills, were arraigned before a magistrate court in Lagos on Monday.
Onyxnews Nigeria had reported earlier that Funke Akindele organised a house party to celebrate her husband JJC’s birthday on Saturday 4, April, at her Amen Estate residence in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.
This reliable online news platform understands that the COVID-19 lockdown house party attracted more than the required number following the restriction order to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Later on Sunday, the Lagos State Police Command arrested the Nollywood actress for hosting party despite the lockdown order in Lagos over coronavirus pandemic.
Lagos Police spokesperson, DSP Bala Elkana, while confirming the arrest of the actress in a statement on Sunday evening, said: “Attention of Lagos State Police Command was drawn to a viral video showing a large number of persons mainly in the entertainment industry in an Estate, along Ajah, Ibeju-Lekki axis, Lagos celebrating a birthday party organised by Funke Akindele Bello and her husband.
“Police detectives from the State CID Yaba were promptly drafted to the location.
“Funke Akindele was arrested. Investigation is ongoing, efforts are intensified to arrest the remaining persons in the video, among whom are Azeez Fashola a.k.a Naira Marley and Abdul Rasheed Bello a.k.a. JJC Skillz.
“They are in their best interests urged to report at the State CID Yaba on Monday 6th April 2020 or risk being declared wanted,” the statement added.
The Federal Government last week ordered a total lockdown for residents of Lagos, Abuja and Ogun States to curb the spread of COVID-19. This was announced by President Muhammadu Buhari during a broadcast.
