President Buhari has made new appointment after sacking DG of NEMA.

Onyxnews Nigeria reports that President Muhammadu Buhari approved appointment of AVM Muhammadu Alhaji Muhammed (Rtd.) as the new Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

This reliable online news plaform understands that the appointment was announced on Saturday in a statement issued by the Director of Information in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Willie Bassey.

The statement read that the appointment took effect from Thursday, April 30, 2020, for an initial period of four years in accordance with Section 3 of the National Emergency Management Agency Act.

The statement said, “The erstwhile Director General, Engr. Mustapha Y. Maihaja, has been directed to handover all official matters to AVM Muhammadu Alhaji Muhammed (Rtd.) immediately.

“The President thanked the out-gone Director-General for his services and charged the new appointee to serve with diligence and commitment.”

On April 28, President Buhari made 38 new appointments.

Onyxnews Nigeria reports that the President approved the appointment of thirty-eight people to the board of the Federal Character Commission (FCC).

This reliable online news platform understands the President passed a letter to the Senate asking for approval for the appointment. The letter was read by Senate President Ahmad Lawan, on the floor of the upper legislative chamber earlier today.

It stated: “In compliance with the provision of section 154 (1) of the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria, 1999 as amended, I write to request for confirmation by the senate for 38 nominees as chairman and members of the Federal Character Commission,” the letter read.
