JUST IN: Former Minister of Health is dead

The former Minister of Health in Nigeria, Dr. Haliru Alhassan is dead.
Onyxnews Nigeria reports that Alhassan died on Sunday afternoon.
This reliable online news platform understands that the 66 year old Alhassan’s demise was confirmed by a family member in Sokoto.
The cause of his death has still not been disclosed as at the time of filing this report.
But the source disclosed that Alhassan died after a brief illness. He will be buried at the Hubbaran Shehu burial ground.
Alhassan served as the Minister of Health under the administration of Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.
Before his death, Dr Alhassan was the chairman, Governing Board of Health Services Management Board, Sokoto state.
Alhassan’s death is an addition to the list of prominent statesmen who have lost their lives in the northern part of Nigeria in recent weeks.
Alhassan, who was a childhood friend of Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, was said to be diabetic before his death.
He is survived by his wife and four children
